We have just started this project to create KUUBIK, the open-source OLAP server ecosystem. As of this early stage in the project, we are still far away from effectively coding software. But there is already possibility to contribute to the project - every help on this project is very much welcome.

You are an experienced administrator or key user of a BI solution based on OLAP server?

Great, you have a lot of experience on using analysis software and report generators displaying data from OLAP cubes. You can help us by telling us your requirements for OLAP products, things you are missing from your current BI provider, what are your must-haves, what are nice-to-haves etc. This information can help us building the KUUBIK requirements and preparing the roadmap for the development to start with the must-haves. Later in the project you can help us by acting as alpha and beta tester of our software in your enterprise. i.E. you could use KUUBIKcalc to access your current OLAP server, report us problems with connections or with the UI, compare analysis results with your current solution and report problems (wrong data etc.).

You are experienced in development for LibreOffice, especially in add-in developement?

You're knowledge would be much appreciated when it comes to designing the add-in for LibreOffice. You cold give us tips about best practises and common obstacles in LibreOffice development. Maybe you have different LibreOffice setups in place, where you could help us in alpha/beta tests for the add-in later in the development phase.

You are experienced in developing databases, especially in topics like data storage, memory handling?

Your knowledge and experience could help us finding the best possible solutions for creating our KUUBIK OLAP database server. Pointing us to best practises and possible pitfalls can help us to speed up the development of the core component. We have also still not defined in which programming language the server should be made, any input here is much appreciated. At the moment we have not yet a tool for collecting information like this. You are not a programmer but want to help us?

There are lot of possibilities to contribute to the project wihout programming knowledge. First of all, anyone interested in the project could help us testing the software. Additonally you could help by working on translations for the user-interfaces or creating documentation and training materials. At the moment we are far away from having testable or even usable software, but you can subscribe to the newsletter to keep informed. For the moment you can support us by telling, what your expectations on OLAP database and BI software are, and what must-haves you expect from KUUBIK software. This information will be incorporated in our specifications and roadmap. At the moment we have not yet a tool for collecting information like this.
